hello sadie

it seems i have a sadie house wife theme for this months brisbane suitcase rummage!!

yep... hear that johnny farhnem classic singing in your head now!!

have been collecting aprons, pot holders and oven mits to take up to brissy on the weekend.
here's some of my favourites....

and while we're on our sadie pieces around the house wanted to show you a favourite apron of my own...

this comes from a great aunty of my hubby. its still starched and looking fabulous. i can't bring myself to wear it while cooking as i never want to ruin it! love it so much.

i've come to wearing aprons while cooking and sewing lately. am loving feeling like a 1950s housewife. i'm coming round to thinking i would have loved to live in that era! but being home by choice, not because i have no other option available to me.  i've studied, worked. and now i'm ready to play house, build a big vegie garden and sew from home. i'm taking one day at a time stepping towards that dream! bring on hubby finishing uni!

wishing you some happy moments around your home this week. blessings, nais.

  1. great aprons, I particularly like any check gingham ones with X stitching. I have a suitcase full here from when I was collecting them, Sold a few at the vintage markets..If I keep them I never know what to DO with them at home, I have ONE old trusty I wear for cooking.

  3. I always wear an apron when I'm cooking too.
I love the one with cross-stiched swans on it.

  4. Hi there, I have just stumbled across your blog and have loved reading about your 'free living' challenge. Very inspiring, especially around easter time, it's how Jesus did it right? I need to take a leaf out of your book. i'll hit 'follow' now. Thanks for the inspiration!

  5. Hi Renee, These are really cute. Particularly the pot holders, very interesting. I used to love op shopping, my whole wardrobe was second hand (for better or worse). Just ask my sisters! It too felt like a guilty pleasure. Although sometimes disguising a not-so-wholesome need for "stuff". But I love seeing what you find. I wear an apron just because they're so practical to wipe your hands on after you crack eggs! Loren
